4 nights in Ocho Rios
Are you thinking about a relaxing getaway with minimal planning involved? Check out an all-inclusive resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
As you can tell from my other posts, my trips are typically action-packed with little to no downtime. But for my husband’s 30th birthday, I decided to take a step back and plan something that required a bit less effort.
That’s when I stumbled across Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort (owned by Hilton).
We spent the week lounging by the pool, swimming up to the bars, enjoying the sunshine on the beach, playing games, nightly entertainment (including hermit crab races!) and eating great food!
Offsite excursion
We landed at MBJ on a Monday morning and took the shuttle to our resort. *When walking to your transportation, only let men help you with your luggage if you are willing to pay them. Typically $5 per bag.*
Our group enjoyed a great day at the resort, followed by a hibachi dinner.
Before visiting, we decided that Tuesday would be our one day of leaving the property. I booked the 8 of us on a tour through Peat Taylor Tours – Dunn’s River Falls, Cool Blue Hole, and tubing down White River. Our guide was incredible, made us feel safe, and added a few fun stops that we requested (at no extra cost).
Cool Blue Hole was our group’s favorite! We scaled and jumped off waterfalls, used rope swings, and swam in the gorgeous water. All of us were in agreeance that we would do this tour again through Peat Taylor.

Our stay
Our group of 8 stayed for 4 nights at Jewel Dunn’s River. We arrived on a Monday in July and left on a Friday.
When packing for your trip, do not be alarmed by high rain chances each day. Before leaving, the forecast showed a 100% chance of rain every day. It only rained one night during the week as we were heading back to our rooms. Jamaica is a small island and bands of rain will pass quickly.
